Pilates

Pilates is a form of exercise developed by Joseph Pilates, mostly as a method of injury recovery for dancers. Pilates improves flexibility, builds strength and develops control and endurance in the entire body. The exercises are combined with deep breathing. Pilates focuses on your powerhouse (abs, lower back, pelvic floor, hips and glutes). This form of exercise can definitely help you stay strong and healthy.

Contemporary dance

Contemporary dance combines the strong but fully controlled legwork of classical ballet with modern style. Contemporary dancers try to connect the mind and the body through dance movements. There is a lot of floor work and improvisation. When I think of contemporary dance, I think of creative freedom, gravity, strength, pushing boundaries and... heart. I always try to express my current mood and thoughts through my movement. Contemporary dance can help you get fit, improve your self-confidence, discipline and creativity.

"If ballet demands that you defy gravity, contemporary dance tugs you back to the floor."

-The Times

Classical ballet

Classical ballet technique is based on the turned-out position of the legs, which increases the range of movement through added mobility in the hip joint and imparts a more pleasing line to the extended leg. This technique focuses on the five positions of the feet, legs and arms. Classical ballet class will help you get your posture on point and improve your flexibility, coordination and mobility.

"Ballet is like writing poetry with your body."
